Solo Club + Hoyt Arboretum Engagement Photos in Portland

Solo Club Portland

You know that intense wave of emotion where you meet two people and you get immensely excited because you want to be best friends with them? Enter Katy + Dan, my new Portland Best Friends. This session was many months in the making with a lot of back-and-forth on potential locations and styles, and I have to say the final plan was perfect. Katy found what may quite possibly be the most tropical PNW bar that ever existed in The Solo Club.

I never thought I’d photograph a couple snuggling on a peacock chair inside a restaurant, but hey, here we are, and this place was super cool.

In what can only be described as a Dramatic Style Shift, we then traveled 5 minutes away and were plunged directly into intense PNW vibes in Hoyt Arboretum. Oregon Redwoods and A-frame pavilions. My kinda place. We wandered down some trails, basked in the dappled light through the tall, tall trees, and reveled in the magic of it all while these two laughed and held hands against what’s definitely my new favorite Portland backdrop. Katy + Dan are incredible, and I’m so sad we were only able to hang out for an evening. But stoked to return to Portland to photograph their wedding at Cooper’s Hall!
