A bold, colorful summer wedding at Rocklands Farm

When I think back on this day, I basically just see wild flowers and an overflowing amount of love. Elan + Alexis’s wedding in the late summer featured both some of my favorite florals (courtesy of Sungold Flower Co.) and one of the loveliest farm venues I photographed a wedding at all year (hi Rocklands Farm), but what’s strongest in my memory is the love between all these people.

These two wanted to spend literally just ten minutes on getting ready photos so we could put our entire emphasis on the people & the emotions & the rest of the celebrating and I loved that. I feel like everywhere I looked, from the beginning to end of this day, people were embracing one another left and right, and it was so very special. A storm was about to roll in during their outdoor ceremony (it was thundering in the background) but all their friends + fam toughed it out, laughing the entire time while a close friend officiated, and the rain never came. Elan + Alexis also chose to feed each other pizza instead of cutting a cake and I have never identified with a wedding decision than that one. This party… it was a real good one.

Without further ado, here is the story of their summer celebration in Maryland.
