An intimate winter Woodberry Kitchen wedding // MV + Nick

I don't even know what to say here, other than that I couldn't have asked for a better wedding to end a great season on. After MV + Nick totally rocked their Shenandoah engagement session, I knew this day would be good, but it was all so much lovelier than I could've imagined. MV wore her mother's wedding dress from the 80s, tailored to be a bit more modern, Nick rocked a super snazzy three-piece suit, and MV's sister put together the most beautiful florals for everyone.

I'd never been to Woodberry Kitchen, but their space is just so lovely, warm and well-decorated. Couldn't have been more perfect for MV & Nick's intimate, 40-person celebration, and bringing the ambiance of the space into their ceremony photos was a lot of fun. I'm real excited to photograph more weddings at Woodberry in the future.

The only bad part of the day was the wild 30 degree weather. In early November! Let's just say these two are a power couple for sticking it out for 30 minutes in sub-freezing temps during their first look and portraits. We were bouncing in & out of my car like it was an igloo in the arctic.

Just a quick note: These two were more worried about looking awkward in photos than any of my past couples, and this is the second time we made one of my favorite sets of portraits together. I love so much of what we shot, even though we were running, freezing our asses off, and they were snuggling each other for dear life. Take these portraits as proof that if you're worried about looking awkward in your portraits with your partner and don't know how I'll possibly make you feel natural, you can trust me on this one.

MV & Nick are the sweetest, and there were way, way too many moments from this wedding where it was just so clear how much they adore each other. Definitely scroll all the way to the end on this one.
