Caitlin + Keith // an epic winter elopement in the Grand Tetons

From time to time, I get to have an experience as a photographer that is totally unfathomable to me. How did I end up here? Meeting Caitlin + Keith (and their doggo, Cabot) for an engagement session in Shenandoah in fall 2024 proved to be one of those experiences, and I didn’t really know it until a few weeks afterwards when I got an email from them saying that rather than eloping in Virginia, is there anywhere else in the country I’ve ever wanted to photograph an elopement?

After a month or two of discussing the fact that I was definitely not picking where they got married for them, we collectively made a plan: they were hoping for snow, which is a big ask in Virginia, so what if we went to the Grand Tetons for a week in February instead?

What followed was absolutely one of the craziest, most beautiful, and most memorable weeks in all of the ten years I’ve been doing this.
