A stylish, quirky National Portrait Gallery engagement session

DSC_2747.jpg

One of those days you genuinely can’t put into words, so I’m gonna keep this short. Everything got weird from the moment I met these two in the best way possible. Dani, Eugene, and I ventured to the National Portrait Gallery, looked at art, stood in front of art, became art, had a sculpture yell at us, made bird noises in public, the whole nine yards. Afterwards, we Ubered up to their neighborhood of Ivy City in Northeast DC, managed to somehow charm Republic Restoratives into letting us hang out and dance around in their barrel room (thanks guys!!), then ended this adventure on the roof of a parking garage in the setting sun. Wish I could live this afternoon over and over again, but I know their wedding at the Blind Whino is going to be even better. So grateful to get to photograph couples are this full of love and just a blast to hang out with.

View fullsize It’s about that time of the year where everything’s very quickly gone from 0 to 100 - multiple sessions a week and a stretch of weddings from here out to mid July. It’s been a much needed off season, but I’m excited to be back
