Rummer + Zach // A River Farm wedding with SO MANY FLOWERS

One of my first weddings ever, all the way back in 2016, was at River Farm in Alexandria. It was a beautiful day - a real window into how amazing the years of weddings to come would be - and I’ve photographed a wedding there every year or so since. Each one has had its own special something and has made me love this place very deeply, but arriving for Rummer + Zach’s wedding felt next level. As we were walking in to set up their first look, we watched the florists ferry countless baskets of blooms down the hill, to a new ceremony spot by the river. It was mesmerizing - like watching a flower market be built in miniature from above.

I knew photographing Rummer + Zach was going to be special, after the evening we spent together at Hope Flower Farm the summer prior, but looking back at a year after the fact as I write this, it’s crazy how vividly every detail comes right back to me - the items Rummer collected from their yard to use in their invitation flat lays, Zach’s best friend putting on Rummer’s wedding dress for a fake first look, so. much. emotion. all day long. It was actually a million degrees on this June afternoon but everyone was so happy it somehow didn’t matter.

When Rummer came down the aisle, Zach was so excited for them to get married that he almost forgot they weren’t supposed to kiss right then and there. I really love watching the two of them be in love and have so much fun together.

Their party was just as incredible. I’m sure I’ll never see another mid-reception karaoke air banjo shred-sesh to the Devil Went Down to Georgia, or a groom karaoke-ing to Hips Don’t Lie.

It just really doesn’t get any better than this.

I am sharing way too many photos with this one, but I don’t care - I love them all so much.
